DRIVERS: SKIP BARBER

Name: Skip Barber
Nationality: United States of America
Date of birth: November 16, 1936 - Philadelphia, Pennsylavania

Having started racing in Formula Ford during 1969, Barber purchased a March 711 at the start of the 1971 season which he planned to take back to race in the US Formula 5000 series. Before returning across the Atlantic Barber took part in the Monaco (failed to qualify) and Dutch Grands Prix, then contested the Canadian and US races, competing in the two North American events again in 1972. He later raced GT cars but has become better known since his retirement as the driving force behind the Skip Barber Racing School and the Barber-Dodge Pro Series, an effective entry level formula in the USA.
