Guy Mairesse

Mairesse raced sports and Formula 1 Lago-Talbots during the immediate postwar period, taking second place at Le Mans in 1950 and 51 sharing with Pierre Meyrat. He was due to drive in the 1954 race with Georges Grignard but was fatally injured earlier in the year when he crashed into a concrete barrier at the Coupes de Paris meeting, killing a six-year old boy in the process.
