Sprint Race Report - Verstappen wins Sprint

Max Verstappen in his Red Bull-Honda from pole, lead wire to wire to win the Sprint race at Austin, Texas today, winning over Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari 3.882 seconds behind, and Lando Norris (6.240s) in his McLaren-Mercedes in third.
Charles Leclerc (6.956s) in the second Ferrari was fourth, followed by George Russell (15.766s) in the Mercedes GP was fifth, his team mate Lewis Hamilton (18.724s) was sixth, Kevin Magnussen (25.161s) in the Haas-Ferrari was seventh, and his team mate Nico Hulkenberg (26.588s) took the final point in eighth place,
Before the start of today’s Sprint race, Verstappen is on pole with Russell alongside, Leclerc and Norris on row 2, Sainz and Hulkenberg on row 3, Hamilton and Magnussen on row 4 and Tsunoda and Colapinto rounding out the top ten.
The drivers came around on the formation lap, the lights came on and the race began with Verstappen take the lead, Norris takes second over Russell, Leclerc, Sainz, Hamilton, Magnussen, Tsunonda.
Leclerc and Russell battle, Hulkenberg is in ninth.
On lao 2 Sainz passes Leclerc, but Leclerc gets the position back.
Russell sets fast lap at 1m38.452s.
Verstappen leads Norris by one second.
On lap 3 Verstappen sets fast lap at 1m37.906s.
On lap 5 Sainz passes Leclerc for fourth.
On lap 6 Russell is battling to pass Norris.
McLaren tells Norris that Verstappen is using up his rear tyres.
On lap 9 Ocon passes both Alonso and Lawson for 15th.
Sainz passes Russell for third.
At lap 10 Verstappen leads Norris by 1.2 seconds, followed by Sainz (3.7s), Russell (4.3s), Leclerc (4.9s), Hamilton (10.5s), Magnussen (14.4s) and Hulkenberg (16.7s) in eighth.
Lecelrc passes Russell for fourth.
Piastri is given a 5 second penalty.
Leclerc sets fast lap at 1m37.748s.
On lap 13 Perez passes Tsunoda for ninth.
On lap 16 Piastri passes Tsunoda for tenth in the first corner.
Hamilton is closing on Russell in fifth.
On lap 18 Norris locks up and Sainz is able to pass him for second.
Leclerc battles with Norris in the final corners.
After 19 laps. Verstappen crosss the line and wins over Sainz and Norris/
On the final lap Verstappen took fastest lap at 1m37.463s.
