Friday Report - Verstappen quickest again

Max Verstappen in his Red Bull-Honda set a fastest time of 1m13.907s in free practice two in a mostly dry session ahead of Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin-Mercedes (1m14.077s), and Nico Hulkenberg’s Haas-Ferrai (1m14.177s). Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez was fourth fastest, 0.312s behind the Dutchman.

Farther back, Alpine-Renault’s Esteban Ocon was fifth quickest, followed by the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, both sorting out new upgrades this weekend while dealing with porpoising issues.

George Russell was eighth quickest in his Mercedes GP, with Alfa Romeo’s Valttieri Bottas and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly between himself and teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Oscar Piastri was 12th fastest in his McLaren-Mercedes and Alfa’s Guanyu Zhou was next fastest, followed by Piastri’s teammate Lando Norris.

Kevin Magnussen was 15th quickest, followed by the AlphaTauris of Nyck de Vries and Yuki Tsunoda. Lance Stroll was 18th fastest followed by the Williams of Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.

Tomorrow’s final practice will be at 12:30p local time followed by qualifying at 4:00p.
