Spanish Grand Prix Preview

RACE DATE: 9 MAY 2004

LOCATION: CATALUNYA, SPAIN

2003 WINNER: M. SCHUMACHER

The home of the Spanish Grand Prix since 1991, which was a year earlier than planned to co-incide with the 1992 Olympics, and thus Catalunya made a less than favourable first impression when the F1 circus arrived at a building site! The first race was however memorable for Nigel Mansell and Ayrton Senna's wheel-to-wheel duel into the first turn: Mansell won. Races here largely muted affairs due to the relentless testing at the venue and its lack of overtaking opportunities.
