Practice 2 Report - Felipe stays ahead
Felipe Massa stayed ahead of the pack in Malaysia with a time of 1m35.780s, a tenth faster than the Renault of Giancarlo Fisichella. Confirming that the Renault is much more competitive in Malaysia was Heikki Kovalainen in third place, two-tenths behind his team mate. This was a fraction faster than Kimi Raikkonen. There was then a larger gap back to the Williamses of Nico Rosberg and Alexander Wurz. Behind them was the BMW of Robert Kubica and Ralf Schumacher's Toyota.
The McLarens were not in the hunt on Friday but it remains to be seen whether the team is really struggling or just keeping its powder dry. Lewis Hamilton was ninth fastest and Fernando Alonso 12th.
The top 10 was completed by the BMW of Nick Heidfeld.
