Adrian Sutil set the pace again in Italy on Saturday morning ahead of Jenson Button's Brawn and Nick Heidfeld's BMW Sauber. Rubens Barrichello was fourth ahead of the McLarens or Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen. Force India's Tonio Liuzzi was seventh quickest, but made a mistake in the Parabolica on his fastest lap. Fernando Alonso's Renault was next ahead of the Toyota of Timo Glock and the BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica. Romain Grosjean was 11th.

It was a bad morning for Ferrari with Kimi Raikkonen 12th and Giancarlo Fisichella last after going into a tyre wall when he went wide at the Parabolica. The car will need to be repaired before qualifying. Jarno Trulli was 13th ahead of Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastien Buemi and Nico Rosberg. The two Red Bulls remained out of the limelight with Mark Webber 17th and Sebastian Vettel 18th. The order was completed by Jaime Alguersuari in the Toro Rosso and Fisichella.
