Practice 2 Report - Massa tops second session in India

Felipe Massa finished the first day of Formula 1 in India with the fastest time (1:25.706). The Brazilian finished FP2 just nine hundredths of a second quicker than world champion Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull (1:25.794).

Fernando Alonso (1:25.930) underlined what looks to be decent Ferrari one lap pace with the third fastest time of the day, with Lewis Hamilton (1:26.456) fourth overall for McLaren.

Hamilton was frustrated with his three-place grid penalty for the yellow flag transgression in FP1, but accepting of it, having admitted to using his DRS in the zone.

Mark Webber's Red Bull (1:26.500) finished the session fifth, ahead of Jenson Button with the second McLaren (1:26.714).

Force India think they should be strong at the new Buddh International Circuit and Adrian Sutil (1:27.316) set the seventh quickest FP2 time, ahead of Bruno Senna (1:27.498), team mate Paul Di Resta (1:27.853) and Sebastien Buemi (1:27.868).

With the dusty circuit steadily evolving as more rubber went down, the leading runners had incident free second sessions but Marussia Virgin's Jerome D'Ambrosio lost the back of his car on the exit of Turn 10 and did heavy damage against the barrier.
