Practice 3 Report - Red flags flying in Budapest

Ferrari dominated the Saturday morning practice session at the Hungaroring with Michael Schumacher six-tenths ahead of Felipe Massa and then a second gap back to Robert Kubica, taking advantage of his opportunity with BMW. The Polish driver finished ahead of Rubens Barrichello's Honda and the Renaults of Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella and Christian Klien's Red Bull ahead of Pedro de la Rosa's McLaren.

The top 10 was completed by the Toro Rosso of Tonio Liuzzi and Kimi Raikkonen's McLaren.

The session was marked by the demise of Jenson Button who appeared to have blown engine in the middle of the session, the Honda coming to a smoky stop and marshals having to put out a small fire in the sidepod. There was also considerable oil spread on the track which indicates that this was probably more than just a burn heat shield.

According to eyewitnesses Michael Schumacher was seen to pass at least one car after the red flags came out for Button and the Ferrari star was talking to the FIA Stewards after the session ended.
