Pedro De la Rosa and Ricardo Zonta remained the two fastest men on Friday afternoon with laps in the 1m18s. These were way quicker than the regular racers led in the afternoon session by Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen in their McLarens. They were followed by Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli, Fernando Alonso's Renault and the Red Bulls of Tonio Liuzzi and David Coulthard. Michael Schumacher was 10th in his Ferrari ahead of Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Giancarlo Fisichella and Christian Klien.

The only incident on note was when Michael Schumacher clunked into the rear of Nick Heidfeld going into the pits while not paying attention.

''I wasn't concentrating enough,'' said the red-faced seven time World Champion.
