Practice 1 Report - Lewis's wonderful world

Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets on Friday morning in Bahrain with a lap that was two-tenths faster than his nearest challengers Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica in their two BMW Saubers. Nico Rosberg was fourth in his Williams-Toyota with Jenson Button fifth for Brawn, split from his team-mate Rubens Barrichello by the second McLaren of Heikki Kovalainen.

Felipe Massa was ninth in his Ferrari (using KERS), while Kimi Raikkonen was 10th (not using KERS), the Finn also having a big spin in the course of the session.

Mark Webber was ninth his Red Bull with team-mate Sebastian Vettel 12th, behind the second Williams-Toyota of Kazuki Nakajima. Nelson Piquet was 13th, ahead of Adrian Sutil's Force India, the Toyota of Jarno Trulli, Giancarlo Fisichella's Force India, the second Toyota of Timo Glock, Fernando Alonso's Renault and the two Toro Rossos. Sebastien Buemi lost a lot of the session after stopping out on the track.
