Practice 1 Report - Ferrari makes rivals eat dust

The dusty precincts of Sakhir, out in what is left of the Bahrain deserts, witnessed the beginning of a Ferrari revival on Friday morning after the Maranello team's drubbing in Malaysia. Kimi Raikkonen set the pace with a lap of 1m33.162s, half a second faster than his team mate Felipe Massa. There was then a gap of four-tenths of a second back to Lewis Hamilton, who outpaced Fernando Alonso by a tiny margin in the first 90 minute session. Fifth fastest was the Toyota of Jarno Trulli, but he was around seven-tenths off the pace of the McLarens. The BMWs were next up with Nick Heidfeld ahead of Robert Kubica and then there was a surprise with Scuderia Toro Rosso's Tonio Liuzzi getting it all hooked up to beat the Williams-Toyotas of Nico Roberg and Alexander Wurz. Jenson Button was doing all right as well with the 11th fastest time ahead of Heikki Kovalalinen's Renault, the second Toyota of Ralf Schumacher and Giancarlo Fisichella.

The Red Bull-Renaults were not looking very good with Mark Webber and David Coulthard in 19th and 20th, behind everyone bar the Spyker.
