Rosberg penalised for radio instructions
Nico Rosberg has lost second place in the British GP today, after he was handed a 10-second penalty hours after the race. The Mercedes driver was given the penalty for a breach of the regulations after receiving instructions by his team on the radio during the race. After the stewards reviewed the situation they penalised the German. stating: "Having considered the matter extensively, the stewards determined that the team gave some instructions to the driver that were specifically permitted under Technical Directive 014-16. ‘‚ ‚ ‚ ¡‘‚ ‚ ‘‚ ‘‚ However the stewards determined that the team then went further and gave instructions to the driver that were not permitted under the technical directive, and were in breach of article 27.1 of the Sporting Regulations, that the driver must drive the car alone and unaided.‘‚ ‚ ‚ ¡‘‚ ‚ ‘‚ During the race the following between Rosberg and his engineer was communicated by rado: Nico Rosberg: Gearbox problem. Rosberg now leads the drivers world championship by only one point over Hamilton. Mercedes says it will lodge an appeal against the decision.
