Fantuzzi in charge

With the departure from Scuderia Toro Rosso of team manager Massimo Rivola, the Faenza team is restructuring and has announced that Gianfranco Fantuzzi is to take over. The 49-year-old Italian started his career in F1 as long ago as 1976, as an apprentice with Ferrari. He became an engineer and in the early 1990s was a race engineer with the Ferrari F1 team. He moved to Minardi in 1998 when British influence at Maranello increased and stayed there until 2001 when he was recruited to the Toyota F1 project, where he was logistics coordinator until 2006, when he went back to Italy to become general manager of the newly-badged Scuderia Toro Rosso.
