Toro Rosso confirm Bourdais for 2008

After months of speculation Scuderia Toro Rosso announced today that three-time Champ Car champion Sebastion Bourdais will drive for the team in 2008.

After winning the 2002 Formula 3000 series, the Frenchman was unable to launch a career in F1, and went to America and dominated with the Newman Haas team.

Bourdais said, "It has been a long time coming, but here we are! I would like to thank everyone at Red Bull for believing in me and giving me this long-awaited opportunity to race in Formula 1. I must also thank Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing for letting me pursue my dream and allowing me to test for Scuderia Toro Rosso a few times this year."

Bourdais will partner the young German Sebastian Vettel for 2008, who joined the team in Hungary after Scott Speed was released. The move leaves current driver Vitantonio Liuzzi looking for a drive for next season.
