Geoff Willis joins Red Bull Technology

Geoff Willis, the former technical director of Honda Racing F1, has been hired by Red Bull to be Technical Director of Red Bull Technology, reporting to Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey.

Willis and Newey worked together at Williams for many years. Willis has been on gardening leave for the last year after he was dropped (and paid handsomely) by Honda.

Mark Smith, who has been Technical Director at Red Bull Racing since January 2006, has been offered another senior position within the company but the implication is that he will probably be on the move before long.

Smith could end up at Spyker, which would be a terrific boost for the small team.
