Barcelona continues to expand

The Circuit de Catalunya is still expanding its facilities as it enjoys the Fernando Alonso boom that is currently driving interest in F1 in Spain. As part of this programme the circuit has just announced a new 2000 seat grandstand at the new chicane that has been created in recent months. These seats should be quickly snapped up as the event is effectively sold out. The expansion also means that the Spanish track has had to upgrade its management as well and it has just appointed Ramon Praderas Roca as the new director-general. His is a logistics expert who previous worked in the port of Barcelona. His job will be to develop new markets for the circuit in terms of pulling in more spectators but also using the track for other events for the rest of the year.
