A wet weekend in Suzuka

Last year the weather in Suzuka was so bad - because of an incoming typhoon - that the entire day's activities on Saturday were called off in expectation of the storm hitting the circuit. In the end it missed the track by about 30 miles and the race was able to go ahead on the Sunday without undue drama.

This year, it is raining again and the weather forecast for the weekend is for that rain to continue.

The good news is that this year's typhoons have largely missed Japan, several hitting Taiwan and China although Typhoon Nabi made a mess of Japan's southern island of Kyushu, about three weeks ago.
