Who is Ian Pocock?

Jaguar's new engineering director Ian Pocock has spent the last couple of years at Pi Research but has a healthy pedigree in Formula 1 which dates back to 1987 when he worked with Benetton while studying for his doctorate at the Cranfield Institute. he then got a job with the Reynard F1 project but when that project was cancelled he went to Ligier to work as a development engineer. In 1992 he joined John Barnard's operations at Ferrari Design and Development in Shalford where he remained for two years before moving to Italy as head of chassis testing at Maranello. In 1999 he was hired by Harvey Postlethwaite's Honda Racing Developments company as head of vehicle science but then moved to Pi where he has been engineering director ever since.
