We must build on this success - says Brawn

TEN wins from 17 races, 170 points in the constructors championship and a world champion driver, but Ferrari's technical director Ross Brawn believes the team can still improve for the future.

The British boss saw his drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello both take podium finishes here in Malaysia, and praised the two of them, as the team continued to dominate the sport after Schumacher clinched the drivers' title two weeks ago in Japan.

Brawn said: "It was a great drive by Michael and a great drive from Rubens and this made the perfect season for us. We've got the double F1 World Championship title and that's the ultimate prize in this sport.

"Next year I hope for more of the same. We've got to build from this success and I'm sure we will do and get all the support from Italy and Ferrari that we will need to continue in this vein."

Team boss Jean Todt also praised both drivers as well as the mechanics, and also Ferrari President Luca Montezemolo, who flew into Malaysia on Sunday morning and will be joining the team for celebrations.

Todt said: "The championship could not have finished any better than this, with two drivers on the podium. This season's figures speak for themselves: ten wins, nine for Michael and one for Rubens.

"I want to thank President Montezemolo, who is here this evening to celebrate this happy moment with the mechanics, engineers and drivers. A big thank you also to the fans and those who always believed in us. This dream result has been obtained thanks to a dream team."
