Arrows to have a Junior Team

WE understand that Piers Portman, who runs the Portman Racing team in the British Formula 3 Championship is to run an Arrows Grand Prix junior team for the next five years, in a deal which is worth $7m to Tom Walkinshaw's operation. The team will move into Formula 3000 next season and will run in the same basic color scheme as the F1 cars, helping Arrows to bring on young drivers and maximize sponsor value for Arrows's F1 backers.

Portman Racing currently runs F3 veteran Warren Hughes although we expect to see Jackie Oliver involved in the project and we would expect to see the team based at the old Arrows factory in Milton Keynes, which is still owned by Oliver.
