A new track in Queensland?

There are reports in Australia of plans for a new racing circuit to be built in Queensland, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The stories suggest that the facility would be floodlit.

Trying the same idea again

Back in the autumn of 2001 a new racing series called Premier 1 Grand Prix was launched, the aim being to combine the thrills of motor racing with the millions of soccer fans around the world.

Grand Prix Saboteurs second edition is out

"The Grand Prix Saboteurs", written by our own Joe Saward, has gone to a second edition. The new impression gets rid of annoying typos, uses better photographs and includes a map. In addition there is new information that has become available since the first edition was published in January.

Racers prepare for British F3 season

The British Formula 3 Championship kicks off this weekend at Oulton Park with a calendar that will take the teams to the usual British tracks but also to the street circuit in Bucharest in Romania, to Monza and to Spa.

A wild idea for Bernie

Bernie Ecclestone has achieved many things in Formula 1 but the one thing that that has still escaped him is F1 success in the United States. This is largely due to the fact that America has not had an F1 star since Mario Andretti retired back in the early 1980s.

Update on Enge

More details have emerged about Tomas Enge's injuries from his accident on Saturday night at St Petersburg in Florida. The Czech former F1 driver suffered no burns, nor head injuries but has a badly broken elbow, a series of cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung.

Dangerous talk

Things are beginning to get more serious for the American open-wheeler championships with the Tampa Tribune reporting that Panther Racing boss John Barnes has floated the idea of the Indy Racing League becoming a support event for the NASCAR Nextel Cup.

Enge hurt in St Pete

Former F1 driver Tomas Enge had a big accident during Saturday evening's American Le Mans Series race on the streets of St Petersburg, in Florida. Enge was driving a Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Ferrari 430 GT and leading his class when he went off at Turn Four.

What is not happening...

Today is April 1 and the gullible out there will be shocked to hear that Formula 1 is being split into two categories now that McLaren has acquired Williams.
