Piero Carini

A reliable and consistent member of the Scuderia Marzzotto sports car racing team in the early 1950s, Carini drove their 2-liter Ferrari 166 in the 1952 French and German Grands Prix, retiring on both occasions. He also failed to finish the following year's Monza race and was killed racing a Ferrari Testa Rossa sports car in the 1957 St Etienne event. His car inexplicably veered across the central barrier and collided head-on with a similar machine.
