Monaco GP - Thursday - Practice Session 2 Report
Lewis in command
Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time on Thursday afternoon in Monaco, four-tenths of a second ahead of the surprising Nico Rosberg in his Williams-Toyota, who was a few hundredths ahead of the Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen. Fourth fastest was Felipe Massa, with Heikki Kovalainen fifth and Robert Kubica sixth, the order was much as expected, with the exception of Rosberg.
Fernando Alonso was seventh fastest but blotted his copy book in the middle of the session when he went sideways at Ste Devote, and wiped the rear wing off his Renault. This was a repeat of an earlier incident at the same corner where Nelson Piquet Jr messed things up and removed his rear wing.
The two Hondas were looking promising with Jenson Button eighth and Rubens Barrichello 10th, while Kazuki Nakajima was between the pair in the second Williams-Toyota.
Nick Heidfeld was 11th, rather slower than might be expected for a BMW driver, while Timo Glock had to make do with 12th, while Jarno Trulli was 17th, after his accident in the morning. Red Bull was struggling with Mark Webber 13th and David Coulthard 14th.
Piquet was a miserable 15th ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella's Force India. The two Toro Rossos were 18th and 20th, the two being split by Adrian Sutil, who crashed his Force India at Rascasse.
