Kimi Raikkonen continued to lead the way in Friday's practice for the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai with a best lap that was just six-thousandths of a second faster than Fernando Alonso's McLaren-Mercedes. The second Ferrari of Felipe Massa was just two-hundredths of a second behind the pair while World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton was fourth, two-tenths behind.

On this occasion the best of the rest was Jarno Trulli's Toyota, which often does well on Fridays, followed by Mark Webber's Red Bull-Renault, the soon to be replaced Ralf Schumacher (Toyota) and David Coulthard in the second Red Bull.

The Williams of Nico Rosberg was next up ahead of the two Renaults of Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen. These were just ahead of the two Hondas of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello and the two BMW Saubers of Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld.

Alexander Wurz was out on his own in 16th ahead of Anthony Davidson's Super Aguri, Tonio Liuzzi's Toro Rosso, Adrian Sutil in the faster of the two Spykers, Takuma Sato's Super Aguri, Sebastian Vettel's Toro Rosso and the Spyker of Sakon Yamamoto.

Now we wait for the FIA stewards to decide about a penalty for Hamilton.
