ITALIAN GP - FRIDAY - PRACTICE SESSION 1 REPORT
A quiet morning at Monza
The Formula 1 teams arrived at Monza with a lot on their collective minds. The engines that will be used this weekend are the ones that will be frozen for use in 2007 and 2008 and so many of the engine-makers had decided to take risks in order to have better specifications in the future - even if that will mean problems at Monza. The result of this was that only 12 cars doing any significant running on Friday morning with BMW's Sebastian Vettel setting the pace again, ahead of his team mate Robert Kubica and Williams's Alexander Wurz. The only major runner to be seen was Kimi Raikkonen who was fourth fastest in his McLaren. Honda suffered an early setback with Anthony Davidson stopping out on the track before he could even set a time.
