BRITISH GP - FRIDAY - PRACTICE SESSION 1 REPORT
Wurz tops for Williams
Alexander Wurz set the fastest time of the first practice session on Friday at Silverstone with a lap time that was just a few thousandths faster than Anthony Davidson's Honda.
The pair were four-tenths faster than Robert Kubica's BMW and nearly a second ahead of Jarno Trulli's Toyota, the fastest of the regular racers. The seven test drivers all did more than 20 laps while the racers all did less than 10 and Williams did not even send out Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg.
Michael Schumacher was fifth fastest but spun off at the end of the session. Also having adventures were Giorgio Mondini, who had a big spin, and Takuma Sato who had an off in his Super Aguri.
The top 10 was thus not very relevant but consisted of Wurz, Davidson, Kubica, Trulli, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Jenson Button, Felipe Massa, Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro.
