SAN MARINO GP - SUNDAY - RACE NOTES
Alonso wins San Marino by a hair
Fernando Alonso won the San Marino Grand Prix, in Imola, in a Renault - his third straight victory of the 2005 season - just 2/10ths of a second ahead of a hard charging Michael Schumacher, who finished second.
Jenson Button finished third in his BAR-Honda, some 10 seconds behind the leader.
Fourth place went to Alexander Wurz in the McLaren-Mercedes - substituting for an injured Juan Pablo Montoya. Fifth place was the second BAR of Takuma Sato. Jacques Villeneuve drove a strong race to finish sixth in his Sauber-Petronas, Jarno Trulli was seventh in his Toyota, and his team mate Ralf Schumacher finished in the final points placing position.
Polesitter Kimi Raikkonen retired from the lead early in the race with a mechanical problem.
