UNITED STATES GP - FRIDAY - PRACTICE SESSION 1 REPORT
Ferrari 2-1 in first practice
Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher topped the timesheets at Indianapolis on Friday morning two-tenths faster than Anthony Davidson's BAR-Honda. The first hour of practice saw little incident although at one point Schumacher managed to go wide in Turn 1. The times are of little relevance but for the record the fourth fastest car was Juan Pablo Montoya's Williams-BMW followed by Ricardo Zonta's Toyota, Bjorn Wirdheim's Jaguar, Jenson Button's BAR and Giancarlo Fisichella's Sauber. The top 10 was completed by Olivier Panis in his Toyota and Ralf Schumacher's Williams. The fact that there were so many test drivers at the front underlines the fact that they were doing most of the work with tyres while the race drivers worked on car set-up.
