Dave Ryan at Interlagos

Former McLaren sporting director Dave Ryan is working with Lotus Renault GP at the Brazilian GP.

Ryan has not been involved in F1 since leaving the team after his involvement in 'lie-gate', the controversy surrounding Lewis Hamilton and his visit to race stewards following a Safety Car incident in the 2009 Australian GP. He had previously worked for the team for 35 years.

Ryan is believed to be working in a consultancy role with the team this weekend, casting an eye over operational procedures and reporting back to the management.

Team sporting director Steve Nielsen left recently to take up a new role with Team Lotus (soon to be Caterham).

Earlier in the season, John Wickham was brought in by LRGP management to conduct a similar study and then to fulfill a management role with the team. Wickham has since moved on.
