Whiting happy with Indian progress

The FIA's Charlie Whiting said that progress at India's Buddh circuit had "exceeded expectations" since he last visited the venue that will host the inaugural Indian GP on October 30.

Whiting's comments were released via a statement from the Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India, whose president is Vicky Chandhok, father of current Lotus driver Karun.

Whiting said that he was confident that the Indian race will be a huge success.

The required circuit license will be issued after Whiting has made a final visit to the venue immediately ahead of the event.
