Ferrari wing outlawed
Ferrari has had to abandon its new specification rear wing used in Friday free practice at Barcelona after the FIA ruled it to be in contravention of the technical regulations.
Ferrari's rear wing had a higher flap, by around 30mm, than intended by the regulations through exploiting a loophole in the regulations concerning the definition of a slot-gap separator. FIA technical delegate Charlie Whiting said: "It's a clever interpretation of the rules and we had to decide whether it was a good interpretation."
With the governing body having decided that the wing is illegal, Ferrari will therefore run its previous specification wing for the rest of the weekend.
