Jarno to test NASCAR with Michael Waltrip team
Michael Waltrip Racing will test Jarno Trulli and Mika Salo at the International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida, in the week leading up to the NASCAR season finale at Homestead Miami Speedway.
Trulli is currently looking for work for next year as his contract with Toyota in Formula 1 has not been renewed. He finished second in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka and is currently eighth in the World Championship. Trulli's sole F1 win came at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix in 2004 while driving for Renault.
After he finishes the F1 season in Abu Dhabi on December 1 Jarno will go to Charlotte for a seat fitting at MWR and will stay with the team to watch the action in the final three races of the year. Trulli visited the NASCAR race at Michigan Speedway in June to watch the Sprint Cup race. It is also worth noting that one of the leading players in the MWR operation is former McLaren F1 engineer Steve Hallam.
