For the last eight years, Yasuhiro Wada has been a key player in Honda's motorsports activities, initially in the United States, where he was head of Honda Performance Development and oversaw the company's Indy Racing League programme from 2003. Prior to that he was heavily involved in the launch of the Acura brand in the US in the 1980s. He was then involved in the establishment of Honda Racing Development in the UK and more recently moved to become head the Motor Sports Division in Tokyo. He is now being moved on to become the general manager of Honda Motor's public relations division. This is a promotion for the 57-year-old Wada and his place as head of the Motor Sports Division will be Keita Muramatsu, who was previously involved with Honda activities in Italy.
