Another great advert for Formula 1

The second practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix was a complete washout with only three cars going out at the very beginning of the session to look at the conditions. Tonio Liuzzi crashed when his Red Bull went out of control under braking at the end of the main straight. After that only Fernando Alonso completed one reconnaissance lap, leaving the fans to sit in the grandstands and wonder why they had spent all that money to go motor racing.

The teams justified their decisions not to run on the basis that with the new regulaations there is too much to lose to run cars in sessions unless they absolutely have to do so and so the spotlight falls once again on the rules which have created this absurd situation.

Formula 1 needs to stop gazing at its own navel and find solutions to these sort of problems.
