Muller to test for Williams

European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) driver Dirk Muller will get the opportunity to test for Williams-BMW in early December, due to his close ties with BMW.

Muller drove a BMW 320i to three wins in the 2002 ETCC on his way to finishing fourth in the championship. The German will drive a FW24 at Barcelona on December 3rd, with Nico Rosberg.

"Over the last two years Dirk has achieved a great deal for BMW and really deserves this token of thanks," said BMW Motorsport director Mario Theissen.

The 26 year old competed in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in 2001 in a BMW M3 GTR.

Williams is on the lookout for a new test driver, after past tester Antonio Pizzonia was signed to a race seat by Jaguar for 2003.
