Davidson to test for Jaguar

BRITISH AMERICAN RACING's test driver Anthony Davidson is to be have a run in a Jaguar later this summer as the team looks at possible signings for next season. The 23-year-old British driver has been working for BAR for the last couple of years and so has some considerable experience with F1 machinery and the Jaguar logic would appear to be to use that the help the team move forward without having to spend a fortune to sign up a high profile driver.

The team has already tested Renault Sport's Fernando Alonso and Minardi's Mark Webber and has Andre Lotterer and James Courtney on the books already. The team has also been in talks with Jenson Button about a possible deal for 2003 if he loses his drive at Renault. In recent weeks there has been speculation that Button will be pushed out to make way for Alonso.
