Testing continues at Valencia

TESTING at the Valencia circuit resumed Wednesday where Jordan joined the mix, just days after scoring their first championship points of the year. It was the Williams test drivers who topped the time sheets again on Wednesday; this time Marc Gene was fastest followed by Antonio Pizzonia.

Gene worked through a tire program to evaluate new tire developments for the next round of the world championship in Monaco in two weeks, while Pizzonia concentrated on engine and chassis race simulations. Ralf Schumacher will replace the Brazilian on Thursday.

Jacques Villeneuve continued to work on developing the BAR 004 on Wednesday, and Anthony Davidson joined the Canadian for the team's second day in Spain.

Renault test driver Fernando Alonso joined Jarno Trulli Wednesday at Valencia. The Spaniard worked on electrical system development while Trulli concentrated on a tire program with Michelin in preparation for Monaco.

Jordan began a testing program at Valencia Wednesday with Jarno Trulli. The Italian delighted many on Sunday when he finished fifth at the A1-Ring to score the first points of the year for Jordan and Honda.

Testing will continue at Valencia on Thursday.
