Testing resumes at Valencia

TESTING resumed on Tuesday following the Spanish GP last weekend. Williams, McLaren, Sauber and Renault tested at the Valencia circuit in Spain, where Williams test driver Antonio Pizzonia set the pace. Pizzonia outpaced his McLaren counterpart, Alexander Wurz, by just over half a second during a sunny and relatively warm day.

Felipe Massa was back in action for Sauber, days after finishing fifth and taking home valuable points for the Swiss team in Spain. Massa conducted mechanical and aerodynamic set-up work, as well as launch control testing, and will begin a tire development program with Bridgestone on Wednesday.

Renault test driver, Spaniard Fernando Alonso, was behind the wheel for the French team at Valencia as well. The Spaniard completed 81 laps, the fastest of which was just 2/100ths of a second off Massa's fastest time.
