Herbert wins Sebring 12 Hours

JOHNNY HERBERT might not have been able to find a drive in single-seaters in the United States of America but the F1 veteran is still showing his winning ways in sportscar racing. Last weekend Herbert shared victory in the classic Sebring 12 Hours with fellow factory Audi drivers Rinaldo Capello and Christian Pescatori. The car finished a lap ahead of the privately-entered Champion Racing Audi R8 being driven by Andy Wallace, Jan Lammers and Stefan Johansson. The Audis were completely dominant with the third-placed Riley & Scott of Marc Goossens, Guy Smith and Jim Matthews finishing nine laps behind the winner.

Herbert's victory adds to the 37-year-old's impressive curriculum vitae which includes victory in 1992 at Le Mans and three GP victories. Johnny is still hoping that he can find a drive for the Indianapolis 500 as he would like to add victory in the American classic to his wins in Formula 1 and in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
