Malaysia's rail link may help race crowds

THE crowds at the 2001 Malaysian Grand Prix was rather disappointing in size and the organizers are hoping that a new fast rail link between the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and downtown Kuala Lumpur Sentral station will help to bring more people out to the track from the city. However the railway is not due to open until April, which will be too late for next year's event, scheduled to take place on March 17. The Express Rail Link service will take travellers 28 minutes to cover the 35 miles and there should be 12 trains operating on the line by the time the 2003 race is held.
