Prost's biplane nose

AMONG the many aerodynamic tweaks being performed by Prost's aerodynamic guru Henri Durand upon the team's recalcitrant Ferrari-engined AP02 chassis was a bizarre new front wing featuring a smaller raised aerofoil above the front wing.

With the rear of the car very closely resembling that of last year's title-winning Ferrari it is the front that has been problematic thus far, although whether Durand's double wing was an act of inspiration or desperation is unclear with team leader in his habitual place in the midfield and team mate Luciano Burti some way behind in the opening hour of Free Practice.
