Raikkonen fastest at Monza

IN the final day of testing at the Italian circuit of Monza on Friday, Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen set fastest time as he developed his experience on the fast circuit.

He was more than one second faster than second-placed Andre Lotterer, who was putting in the testing miles for Jaguar, with Alexander Wurz a close third for McLaren.

Young Finn Raikkonen was satisfied with the test as the team continued development on further aerodynamic improvements.

"This was another good day for us," said Raikkonen. "I was pleased with the progress that we made with our new aerodynamic set-up.

"We have also done some good work on the tires, suspension and brakes, so we have had a very positive week's testing here."

Jarno Trulli was fourth for Jordan as he worked on tire and brake evaluation in a race set-up, but small problems left him and his testing team-mate Ricardo Zonta unable to complete the day's running.

Mika Hakkinen was a disappointing fifth fastest, some 1.5 seconds off the pace after sitting out much of the day following a shunt in the morning session.
