Raikkonen troubled by problems at Monza

YOUNG Finn Kimi Raikkonen had his day cut short by transmission problems in testing at Monza on Thursday as Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya topped the times.

Raikkonen lost the afternoon session after his Sauber developed the transmission problems, but he was happy with the work performed during his second day of testing.

"I was very happy because the car felt very good," Raikkonen said. "We got through our planned program this morning and I was particularly impressed with the set-up that we developed.

"It was a shame the transmission problem stopped us so early in the afternoon because I was really enjoying myself."

Colombian Montoya improved his lap times throughout the day as the temperatures dropped and he eventually ended the day with a best time more than a second quicker than Raikkonen.
