Big guns in damp squib at Silverstone

MCLAREN and Jordan were left unable to complete their testing and development schedules at Silverstone as the circuit was hit by April showers of the torrential kind.

Having been outpaced by the BAR-Hondas earlier in the week the teams were hoping to record some improvement, but the fastest man of the day, McLaren test driver Alex Wurz, was only able to complete two laps.

The Jordan pairing of race driver Jarno Trulli and tester Ricardo Zonta were sandwiched in the middle despite running more laps while David Coulthard, replacing Mika Hakkinen, was eleven seconds off the pace after only three laps.
