Jaguar to axe Irvine?

EDDIE IRVINE is set to be axed by Jaguar Racing and Pedro de la Rosa will replace him, according to reports in Spain.

Irvine has been slammed after he launched an attack on the team and the new R2 chassis. Now, Prost test driver De la Rosa is reportedly in discussions with the Milton Keynes-based team

The Ulsterman failed to live up to pre-season billing last season, but promised to power Jaguar up the grid this season following the arrival of new team chief Bobby Rahal.

Spaniard De la Rosa was ditched by Arrows in January and signed a two-year deal with Prost which includes the promise of a full-drive next season.
