Jordan announce appointment of John Putt as new chief operating officer
JORDAN GRAND PRIX have reshuffled their management structure with the appointment of John Putt as chief operating officer on Tuesday.
Putt, who was an advisor to the team from 1996 to 1998, will oversee the day-to-day management of the Silverstone-based outfit on a part-time basis with immediate effect.
The 47-year-old will then take up the role full-time when his contract with current employers McKinsey and Company, who are a management consultant firm, expires in February 2001.
Putt, who worked with Jordan's new engine suppliers Honda in 1981, has 21 years experience in the automotive supply industry after also working at Nissan and Toyota.
Jordan chairman and chief executive Eddie Jordan hopes Putt's appointment will allow himself to expand his role in the commercial side of the team, while managing director Trevor Foster will be able to focus on overseeing the team's race performances.
