Australian viewers continue to battle for TV coverage

AUSTRALIAN Formula One fans are continuing their battle with television broadcasters Channel 9 for the right to screen the final race of the season in Malaysia.

The television station was forced to change its policy to screen delayed coverage of the Japanese Grand Prix and show the event live. They had planned to delay coverage of the race by 10 hours.

The final race of the season in Malaysia is currently pencilled in for highlights to be screened. But Channel 9 officials have not ruled out a possible switch and insist live coverage of the race could yet be broadcast.

A spokesperson for the network said: "At this stage it will be shown at 11.35pm. There are no immediate plans to change the schedule time, however Japan was live so it is possible that things may change before then."
