Jordan confirm new engineer signing

Jordan have confirmed that they have signed former Williams and McLaren engineer David Brown as their chief race engineer for next season.

Brown will replace Mike Gascoyne, who was recently recruited by Benetton, and will start his new position in time to prepare for the 2001 championship season.

Brown has been race engineer to the late Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost amongst others in his previous positions and his greatest achievement was when he helped German Nick Heidfeld to the F3000 title last year.

Brown will become Heinz-Harald Frentzen's race engineer, replacing Sam Michael, as well as chief engineer.
