Will Robert race at Indianapolis?

Robert Kubica left hospital in Montreal saying that he hoped to be able to race in Indianapolis. The Pole suffered only a sprained right ankle and a slight concussion is his huge accident in Montreal but there are no guarantees that he will race in the United States until after he has a mandatory fitness test on Thursday. The only likely problem will be with the concussion.

Following a concussion there is a period during which the brain is vulnerable and a second concussion within this period increases the possibility of permanent brain injury considerably. There is much dispute in medical circles about what is known as "Second Impact Syndrome" but there are cases in which this has had fatal consequences.

Thus it is up to the doctors to decide whether Kubica's concussion is sufficient to warrant a period out of the car or whether he is fit to race.
